Therapy - Number, Frequency and Suitability

A question that many people considering chiropractic, or any treatment will naturally ask, is “How many sessions will I need to see any results?”

The answer to that will inevitably vary dependent on your personal situation and needs, but before you get to that stage, you will need to be assessed to find out if you are suitable for the therapy. Prior to beginning your advanced holistic therapy experience, you should expect us to go through some questions to understand more about you, your current health and well-being, and your reasons for wanting treatment or our care. This will help us build up a complete picture of your needs.

Before your visit, we ask you to please fill in our electronic patient form and pay a deposit*.

*A £30 deposit is required for all single sessions at the time of scheduling to confirm and hold your appointment. The fee will be applied to your balance due at the end of your appointment.

The first visit

When you enter our practice, you’ll be greeted by our friendly front-of-house (FOH) team and invited to the waiting area. Please make sure you arrive no more than 10 minutes before your appointment time.

You’ll then meet your doctor of chiropractic and holistic practitioner, Harvey Young for a thorough consultation to discuss your concerns, symptoms, lifestyle and treatment goals. He will take a detailed case history and carry out a comprehensive physical examination of you, this will help him to establish a working diagnosis for your issue and to reach a view about the best course of care for you.

If you are suitable for our therapy, we will also recommend a programme that will include details of how many sessions you should have, and over what time period. Once again this will vary from one individual to another, but there is a ‘Gold Standard’ that is considered amongst experts to produce the greatest, long-term physiological benefits.

There may be things you already knew, but almost certainly there was plenty that you didn’t – especially perhaps the key things to look for when choosing a therapist. The difference between a great practitioner or centre and an average one is considerable and when it comes to your health, only the best should be considered good enough.

Please allow up to 60 minutes for your first appointment.

Procedure for Claiming Health Insurance

Inviting third-party payers into your care gives them a say in how we should care for you unless you obtained referral from other specialists. Patients who wish to claim from their health insurer need to pay personally for their care and claim it back. This allows us to use our clinical experience, and patient education, combined with your goals to provide individualised care. We're happy to provide a treatment invoice for you to seek reimbursement with your insurance company.

Before starting care you must have your insurer’s approval and a claim reference number. Contact your insurers and ask the following questions.

  1. Does your policy allow for chiropractic care with your chosen GCC registered practitioner?

  2. Do you need a referral from either your GP or Consultant before starting care?

  3. Is there a financial limit or restriction on the number of visits you can have?

  4. You need to advise them that we do not invoice direct to insurance companies and that you will be claiming back personally.

Important to Remember

Insurers may not reimburse you for any care given before the date you notify them or get approval for care. Please do not ask us to provide invoices or records that may compromise our integrity. Some insurers do not cover the full cost of our fees and you will be responsible for any outstanding payment.
